Cefn Fforest Community Hall is a bright accessible venue in the heart of Cefn Fforest village.
The community hall has an accessible loo, baby changing and a lovely kitchen with a microwave for anyone needing to warm up baby food. There is room for up to 25 parents or so and children. This session has proved popular already and it's only just been set up so if you're interested in coming along please consider booking ahead.

What happens?
The session here officially opens at 9.30 and there is some time to settle down and get comfy with a tea or coffee (50p).
Music Time will start at 9.40 and run until about 10.40. The session is full of live music, instruments, puppets and sensory fun. Parents are encouraged to join with singing but I don't force you! I do ask that parents and carers don't chat during the songs and turn phones off or onto silent. That way I can hear myself and it's good for the babies too. There's a bit of time to relax afterwards with a cuppa and a chat before I have to pack up at 11am.
The space is generous and there is some space inside for buggies but please try and leave buggies in the car or at home if possible. This way there is more room inside for humans!
Parking is available directly outside the hall, with some disabled spaces too.

Music Time in South Wales...
Are you a venue looking to host a fun activity for young children?

I'm currently looking for more venues in and around Cardiff and Pontypridd to host Music Time.

Once they're organised details will appear here.
Are you a venue interested in hosting Music Time?
Please have a read of the following and get in touch if you'd like to discuss things further.

About the sessions
Music Time for children aged 0-3yrs can take place anytime between 9.30 and 12noon.
I aim to run an hour's session, possibly two sessions depending on the venue and practicalities.

Music Time features a mix of traditional children's songs, acoustic covers and some Jenny originals along with puppets, instruments and some simple sensory activities. We sing, we play and we have fun!
Sessions are led by me, an experienced performer and playworker with over 24years experience of working with early years children in all sorts of venues.

Parents are encouraged to book ahead with a few spaces remaining on the door.

What does Music Time need?
Enough space for a circle of 20-25 parents on chairs with room to move around the venue safely. I'll provide mats and instruments for the middle of the circle.
If your space is full of tables these will need to be moveable to the sides or into a side room until after the session when they'll be put back and parents can stay on for food etc.

Space for buggies to park. I encourage parents to leave buggies at home but if they bring them it's very helpful to have a designated space for them.
Baby changing is great or at least a large loo that I can bring a table and mat into.
High chairs are a bonus

If you are interested in hosting Music Time and your venue is suitable please contact me to arrange a meeting. It would be great to discuss practicalities like timings as well as what financial arrangement you're happy with.

I'm really looking forward to getting Music Time up and running in Wales!
