Music Time takes place at The Oval Tavern in East Croydon the first Saturday of every month in three month blocks.

About the sessions

Sessions start at 11am and you are welcome from 10.45 to get settled and get a coffee if you like. 

The sessions are open to everyone, including children with additional needs or sensory empairment.

​

Music Time features a mix of traditional children's songs, acoustic covers and some Jenny originals along with puppets, instruments and some simple sensory activities.  We sing, we play and we have fun!

Sessions are led by Jenny Lockyer, an experienced performer and playworker with over 24 years experience of working with early years children in all sorts of venues.

Age range

I say the sessions are for 0-3year olds but if your child is slightly older and would benefit from coming please bring them along and see how it goes. As long as the babies aren't trampled on and your child is engaged by the activities I'm happy.

​

Wheelchairs and bigger buggies can gain access to the garden and lower level via the side gate but please note that the pub has no official disabled access to the lower floor where the toilets are. If access is an issue please contact me to dicuss how we can help.

​

 

We have the pub to ourselves for the session until official pub opening time at 12 when you can stay on afterwards to chill out and have some lunch.  I encourage you to buy food and drink at The Oval Tavern as not only is it delicious but Esther the manager is not charging me to use the space and it's part of the agreement that I invite you to sample the menu....
There is also space for buggies,baby changing, and high chairs are available.

 

About the Oval Tavern
The Oval Tavern is a welcoming, award winning, community loving pub in East Croydon. Its manager, Esther Sutton has recently been elected intot he Green Party as a local councillor :-D 

The pub is a short walk from East Croydon train station and is served by the 410, 312 and 197 bus routes too. On street bay parking is available on Oval Road.
The Oval Tavern has a delicious menu, a selection of craft ales and a vast mix of live music which has happily been returning since the lifting of lockdown.
